This pattern has the option to use the Magic Ring (aka Magic Loop) and I recently had someone ask me how to do this. I know there are many tutorials out there, but I recently found this one and though it worth sharing here:

How to Crochet a Magic Ring by Kara on petalstopicots.com

Photo Tutorial for the Fingers and Toes

I have updated the pattern, rewritten Rnd 9 of the arm/hand, and (hopefully) corrected the stitch count/math problems from my previous original version. It’s only taken me 6 years to finally do it 🙂 I will be keeping the FAQ & Errata page open for all downloads before 09/12/14

I really like this pattern. It’s the closest thing to an Adipose I’ve seen yet!

However, in making the body I did find that the pattern didn’t quite match up in places. On the bright side the body pattern is very forgiving so a little tuck and skip here and there seems to be alright.

I’m still somewhat unsure of what exactly some parts of the pattern for the limbs mean so it’s a lot of trial and error. At the moment the body is sitting there like a giant marshmellow with eyes and creepy smile, staring at people as they pass…. so it’s all good! lol

Thank you! Since the pattern is untested, I try to keep up with revisions whenever someone tells me of an error found.

If you have any problems or questions, feel free to send me an email 🙂

  3. If I’m doing this correctly, Round 5 of the body has 35 stitches total (multiples of 7) which is throwing the rest of the pattern off by 1 if you’re counting total stitches.

I forgot to put the corrections on this page as well, I have it on the Ravelry page.

      It should read:

“Row counts are off by one stitch starting at rnd 5. Rnds 5-26 should have 1 more stitch than indicated. Rnds 28-31 continue with the correct counts.”

      So you are correct 🙂

Thanks for letting me know so I can put the correction up here also.

  5. I’m a little confused with the arm instructions. Do we have to do the magic ring or just the ch. I followed your body to the word and mine turned out just fine. :))))

  7. I just made one. A little rough in places, but not bad for my first attempt. Thanks SO much for the pattern – I’ve wanted an Adipose ever since I saw that episode!
