Care for my Jewelry

All of my crocheted jewelry is made with 100% Mercerized Cotton crochet thread in size 10, unless otherwise stated. I may use what is called metallic crochet cotton, which is an 88% cotton/12% metallic blend.

Size 10 crochet cotton is also known as “bedspread weight” because of it’s popular use in heirloom and antique bedspreads that a lot of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers may have made in generations past.

For washing and general care:

Like most things made with cotton, I recommend keeping the jewelry away from chlorine (as in swimming pools), and salt water. Please remove if you plan on going swimming.

Jewelry:

Hand wash with a mild soap in cool to warm water.
Gently roll in a towel to help blot out any excess water, *do not squeeze or twist*.
Lay flat on a towel and gently stretch back into shape, straightening the petals individually so they don’t curl. Leave the jewelry on the towel until completely dry.
    *Do not use chlorine bleach*

Individual Crocheted Ribbons: (not attached to necklaces)

Hand wash with a mild soap in cool to warm water.
Gently roll in a towel to help blot out any excess water, *do not squeeze or twist*.
Lay flat on a towel and leave on the towel until completely dry.
    *Do not use chlorine bleach*

I will send a copy of these care instructions with every order.
